Sam Velazquez BA

Sam is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at National Louis University. 

Her professional interests include navigating concerns and explorations related to intimacy concerns, life stages, addiction, trauma, and depression. She is part of the kink and polyamory aware Chicago therapist (KPACT). By building open and genuine relationships throughout the therapeutic process, Sam curates a stabilizing presence that encourage you to explore a full range of emotions to discover your authentic self.

With a background in psychology, cultural diversity, and behavioral support, Sam fosters empathetic resonance and unconditional positive regard by deeply understanding your perspective through a nonjudgemental lens. Utilizing a person-centered approach and trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Sam believes that being an affirming witness to your life exploration, can repair and reframe negative perceptions. Sam is open to working with adolescents, early and older adults, and couples.

Beyond her clinical training, Sam enjoys traveling, connecting with loved ones, the outdoors, and painting. Sam looks forward to building an intentional therapeutic alliance with you while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
